This may seem like a lame question to most of you, but I don't drive truck much, especially in winter. Took the truck this past weekend, just to get some time in it and to refresh the fuel. When I went to the info center, on the trip screen, Trip A came up blank. Just an orange line encircling the message area and 2 orange hashes or dashes. No info. Trip B was fine. Can anyone tell me what the truck is trying to tell me? I had just filled up the DEF, Oil does not need to be changed, I only have about 19k miles on truck. I am befuddled. I did try to reset trip meter and nothing happened, at least not visible to me.
Any info would be great.
2012 6.7 lariet. The info center is the one between the tach and speedo.
try tapping the OK button on the steering wheel, I had this happen once when I started to reset the settings but didn't hold it long enough to reset. If you want it reset continue to hold the OK button, if you want the running total just tap the OK button.
It's a pause feature for accurately measuring time/distance if necessary. By pressing the ok button when that screen is selected you can pause the timer/distance in case you are "off duty" momentarily.
I'm not sure why they made it like that, seems a rare thing for very few drivers to be mass produced. If you're a commercial driver you only get 11hr duty cycle in a day with two 30 minute breaks I think. For accurate log book entries one can use the trip odometer/timer for a tool.
It is 14 hours from starting work, 11 of which can be driving, then a 10 hour off duty time is required before you can drive again. One 30 minute break is required every 8 hours of driving.
