Hi, Im new to the site. I did look through many of the shock threads before posting this as well as research a bit elsewhere with out much luck in answering the following question.
I would like to change the shocks on my Ex they are currently Edlebrock and I have no idea how long they have been on. I bought it in Santa Anna California, so they dont look "Old" but who knows. Anyway I think Id like to go the bilstein route, however the rear shocks they offer 2 varieties of, a yellow one that would prolly look bad with the red paint I have...(IKR) and a silver one that would match in looks to the front bilsteins that Id like to use, the issue is that the silver one is for a "3-5 inch lift". My suspension is stock, I realize these arent going to "lift" the truck but is it going to be an issue using it on stock suspension.
I just replaced my Rancho 9000s with a set of Bilsteins on the front of my X, mine are yellow with blue boots, all you can see of them are the blue boots. HUGE upgrade from the Ranchos. Still have the Ranchos on the rear, waiting for funds to complete the swap.
Thanks, Im glad to hear about the blue boots being all you can see on the fronts. Do you thing the 3-5 inch lift thing on the rear shocks is a big deal? Or would I be ok using them on the rear?

It is a big deal, they will bottom out.... I had the Rancho 9000's on my previous EX they were ok but prefer the ride with the Bilstein 5100's (silver) on my current Ex.
If you are as **** as me, get the yellow Bilsteins spray them black than shoot them with a clear coat and exchange the blue boots for black ones. Just my .02
