...last week it got up to 116 in some places, 120 is not unheard of... Heck it was 95 at 7 o'clock in the morning.
The heat aint so bad...it's the scorpions, poisonous centipedes, spiders in the house that start to get annoying...

This brings up a question. The reflective windshield shades that people use when they park their cars.
Would they tend to increase the chances of a windshield cracking?

About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed-wire-surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts.
On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached 138 degrees inside the week before. Many were also swathed in wet, pink towels as sweat collected on their chests and dripped down to their pink socks.
"It feels like you are in a furnace," said James Zanzo't, an inmate who has lived in the tents for 1 1/2 years. "It's inhumane."
Joe Arpaio, the tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and long ago started making his prisoners wear pink, is not sympathetic. He said Wednesday that he told the inmates: "It's 120 degrees in Iraq and the soldiers are living in tents and they didn't commit any crimes, so shut your mouths."
Well I don't know we have some pretty bad wildfires threatening our ranch, they are burning at 700 degrees, its been 110 for a while now and it hasn't rained since june 25, the stock ponds are nearly dry and the irrigation is getting lean. We are lucky to have a business to fall back on but so many are not.

Hottest we have gotten here this year was 109 last week, the only real good thing is that at night we still drop into the mid 60's, hubby told me if it Ever got to be 113 or higher he would be calling in sick that day, as he works as a kitchen manager and the temp inside the kitchen is Always 10 degrees hotter than outside even with the fans. I agreed lol
