Hey all, any help is greatly appreciated! So I started driving my truck today,1996 f250 7.3, after it sitting for winter. Started just fine with no issues, no lights on the dash, but I hit 15 mph and the ABS light comes on. Mind you I just replaced the VSS with a genuine ford sensor last year. I had an old one laying around so I swapped it in to see if that was the issue and the light came on but then went off. Came home went to leave again and did the same thing, turned on at 15 mph but this time didn't turn off. That's issue 1. Number 2 when I'm driving on the highway it acts like the engine is cold when I know it is not. I'll be getting on the highway and everything is fine runs great but after I flatten out the throttle to 70, the rpm jumps from 2k to about 2200 to 2300. I get on the gas a little and it goes back to how it should sound, get off and it jumps right back up. I'm completely stumped. I pulled codes and there was nothing..... I did just replace my third brake light, tail lights, and reverse lights to LED lights but I doubt that has anything to do with anything. PLEASE HELP!
Well you were right u pulled the third brake light and put the old one in and pulled out the tail lights leaving the LED reverse lights and the thing runs great now. No more ABS light and the thing shifts and runs normally now. Thanks. I'm gonna put load resistors on the third brake light and tail/brake light and see if that works if not.... I'll just have to just get rid of the LEDs
So when I bought my LED lights I bought the flasher that mimics what load resistors do and installed it making the lights NOT hyper flash. My problem now is I've installed the load resistors but have the same issue. For some reason when I turn the key to the on position whether it is running or not the thire brake light is constantly on. It's low but it's on.... if I disconnect the third brake light the two tail lights are on. They're low but they're on. They are getting about 5 to 6 volts and then when the lights are turned on or the brake lights are hit they get the full 12 volts..... what's next?? How do I get rid of them running all the time so my truck will drive normal.... other than getting rid of them cuz I'd really like to keep the LEDs if I can
