Billions of flat tappet cams have been successfully broken in by people not as smart as you. Even I've done several and had no problems. Just make sure everything is ready to go, fire it up, and keep it running above 2000 RPM for at least 20 minutes.

Honestly I'm a ford fan , but I'm not a fan of the coyote 5.0. With the timing chain problems an the tensioners . Also the thing is so damn wide, an the wiring harness an dash setup is going to cost a crap ton . If you want more power an less work , get a 392 sbf an call it a day
