Radio help

Im trying to figure out a good way to get a radio hooked up. The original was pigtailed into the fuse block with a spade connector. Id like to avoid that. Id like to put in a simple walmart stereo with just speakers in the door. No amps, no subs or anything. Just something to listen to. My biggest questions are:
1. What kind of voltage do i need? and how do i need it?
I understand i need 12v in the run position.
2. If i pulg into a connection like this (12v in the run), will i lose my presets everytimes i turn the truck off?
3.The old radio had 3 wires, a power, ground and the speaker runners ( i mentions how it was hooked up?) A new stereo has a whole connection into it. Does anyone know how i can hook it up? (A diagram i guess)
4. Are there any issues i might encounter? Any tips and tricks?

I have plenty of connections under the dash, just dont know a good way to do this.
As always thank you everyone for the help and insight.

If you dont want to run it off the fuse block, just find a wire that is always hot like the cigarette lighter and go off of it.The new stereo will have a diagram that shows what wires are for what.

I also found an old LCD PC monitor, inside there is a nice piece of flat aluminum sheet. I then cut a template out of that sheet and painted it black to hide 'around' the deck unit.

And or this...The OEM radio was powered by a GREEN 2-terminal pigtail. YELLOW with a BLACK stripe is switched power, BLUE with RED stripe is dash illumination. Do not mistake the BLUE with RED stripe wire for ground. The OEM radio grounded through its mounting chassis. The speakers were connected over a separate pigtail.
Ok I looked behind the glove box and found a connection the goes off the green and yellow. GREEN with YELLOW stripe wiring is hot-at-all-times power for the courtesy lamp circuit. Use that. There is a 3-connector pigtail behind the glove box (which also goes on to power the cigarette lighter).
It's not the stock radio wire because the stock radio didn't need hot-at-all-times power (EXCEPT the factory digital AM radio for clock memory).
solid black—power blue with red stripe--dial light black with gray dashes—ground orange with green dashes--right speaker white with green dashes--left speaker
Assuming an AM/FM stereo and stock wiring harness'.
Purple is ground, right speaker is white and left speaker is orange.

How is this for old school? Yes I still have music on cassettes. Look behind the glove box liner for a yellow 3 spade, only one is used for the glove box light the other are open for you. here it is behind the cluster....
