7.3L Engine Swap
Hi there. If there is a better section for this thread then please direct me there. Here's my situation: I have a totalled 2001 F350 but the engine is good. I also have a 1997 F350 but the engine needs a lot of work. Both trucks are diesel with manual transmissions. I was thinking about taking the 2001 7.3L along with it's tranny and dropping it all into the 1997 truck. Is there anyone that has done this before? Will the engine and tranny bolt right up with the existing mounts? And how hard will it be to get the engine electronics to work with the older truck? I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.
