Can anyone advise if you can put a 1974 2.3L Pinto engine into a 1992 Ranger with a 2.3L engine? If I can, will it just bolt up or need modification? I would like to bolt it to the 5 speed currently in the truck.
I had a Pinto!!!!!!!!obviously due to my sn. Anyway that had no cumputer in it or fuel injection so I don't know. That engine had some pep to it (in the pinto atleast) I thought so good luck. It won't blow up either I tried. I redlined the engine pinned for a minute straight and nothing happened. I beat that car into the ground but it was always ready for more.
Thanks for the reply. I have been having a ton of sensor problems with my current engine and would like to go to something that is simple and reliable. Any suggestions would be great.
What sensor problems? I am skeptical that this is massive problem...my truck has about 248K miles now and nothing is wrong with it.
Name 'em or give us codes to decipher.
Spend a little time to learn about Ford EFI (someone has that link...maybe in the sticky for our forum...), scan a code (you can do that by yourself on your truck) or spend much more money swapping in an engine AND tranny!
So, which will it be? (You know my suggestion by now...)
P.S. Sensors lead to the actual issue. That's why they are there! To tell you something else is wrong. Stop skirting the real issue!
