Are you SURE you aren't mistaking it for the PCM's power relay? That has what you are describing, like the fuel pump.

Pop

Then it probably is the PCM relay. Don't have time to look now but will check later

Security needs to be layered approach IMO. Factory Alarm to wake me up and the neighbors. The Club, which will probably deter them from breaking in the first place. Cyclops to keep it from starting. After all that hopefully they just move on. Also, GPS Tracking stickers on the windows act as a good deterrent and available for $5 on ebay.

Beyond that...if they really want it they will get it as mentioned above, so good insurance is our last resort.

I looked over Pop's SPED and think it is a bit out of my ability, or further than I am willing to take things in an effort to keep my truck from being stolen. As mentioned before, a thief could be witting and know about the relay/circuit breaker, but chances are they will not. I feel that they would simply think the truck is a POS and will not start. By the time they try to turn it over someone would have seen/heard what is going on and spooked the thief.

Of course, if the thief is really determined to take the truck, they will. All of this is great information that would help someone make an educated guess as to what route they want to go.

If you search online for "The Club" and its effectiveness, the general consensus is not positive at all.

I read a comment recently from a guy that claimed he could remove one in less than 30 seconds.

I have thought the club was pretty useless from day 1, but that is my own opinion. I was intrigued by the Cyclops system because it might just do the trick and make a thief give up if the truck does not start due to the IDM being disabled.

The Club is defeated by simply cutting through the steering wheel itself and slipping the Club out of the way (as fast as 30 seconds?). One thread I read included a story of a bust on a chop shop where they found dozens of Clubs stacked out of the way in one corner of the shop, and the thieves admitted actually looking for vehicles with the Club because it is such a quick "defeat".

I am trying to find the 800 # for the Cyclops no start

I am trying to get the 800# for the Cyclops. I have purchased 4 of these for our trucks used by the church grounds team. Someone tried to steal our trucks last week, and could not get them started. Destroyed the steering columns, but we still have our trucks. I need to order another one.
If anyone could help me with contacting them please email me

FYI ALSO,
3 years ago, we spent $15k replacing Catalytic Converters on our church busses. We installed a device called CATCLAMP made in Michigan. STOPPED the thefts of our converters.

Isn't there a relay under the hood that can be pulled? What about a perko switch hidden under the hood somewhere?

The Cyclops device replaces the IDM or PCM relay under the hood. They look almost the same as the factory one. Operated by a key chain fob and latches in for about 2-3 minutes to start and stays latched after the engine is running. Releases when ignition is shut off.

Especially if the PSD is being specifically targeted? After all, the relay is small enough and cheap enough to keep as a "just-in-case" tool for those with unlawful tendenecies.

This is, and other scenarios as well, is what keeps me coming back to taking Pop's approach with a hidden mag switch in some out-of-the-way or otherwise obtuse location.
yes but most thiefs or those people with unlawful tendencies are looking to get inn and away as quickly and painless as possible, most will not be carrying a "spare fuse" around, and will want to take the time (even if they have a spare fuse) to guess what "fuse/relay" is bad and take the time to test each one and swap untill they find the correct one....

Like Jaime said, the potential thief would need to know that the device was in there in the first place to be prepared in advance. For the most part I would think that anything that looks like some sort of add-on switch or device would be a dead giveaway to the practiced thief.

last time I remember reading that the Cyclops looks like any regular relay that you would get from AutoZone or any place like that so again if you don't know which one to go after...

oh and yes I know the club is defeatable, but I have the pedal lock, yes I know it can be defested as well but this is more of a challenge due to the space needed for a saw of sufficent abilities to cut it and the time required, and also a sawzall would make a lot of noise too...
