88 F150 Starting problems
Ok Folks Still trying to figure this truck out. when i picked the truck up it had not run for some time. I replaced pumps, cleaned tanks, blew out lines, changed filters, put in injector orings and new screens, did the tune up stuff. I can get it to run but only if with a small shot of ether. then it will run on its own, It does have a high idle that wont come down. I cleaned IAC and the throttle body, new gaskets on upper intake also. Well, I was under the truck looking around and it looks like there is not an O2 sensor, the wire is there but the exhaust looks cobbled together, so no bung. is this the reason why it will not start without the shot of ether? Its 88 F150 302 4 speed. Motor sounded fine except high idle and no smoke so I am happy there. any suggestions would help I would like to sort this out. Thanks

I figured out why it wouldnt start on its own, then have a high idle. The IAC wasnt working. I unplugged it while it was running and the idle dropped and the truck will start without it plugged in.
