No Start
Hey all, I searched with no luck so here goes. 94 F150-302. The truck wont start at all unless you squirt it with starting fluid. It will stay running forever until you shut it off. The other problem is that after about 5 minutes the idle shoots to about 3,000 rpms. I have been running with the IAC unhooked. I grabbed a used IAC and it still does the same thing. I have not hooked it up to a scanner yet to check for codes. It acts like it is not getting fuel when you try to start it but if you squirt it it stays running. Thanks for any help. Travis
Have you pulled the codes yet?
The high idle could have one of several causes, or all the several causes. Sensor errors, accuator errors, and vacuum leaks often lead to high idle. So the best step is to pull codes to see what the computer may be "seeing" with its sensors first. Then from there you can address issues as they come up.
