I have just joined because I had bought myself an original 62 f100 with the wrong bed it has the original 292 and the 4 speed with the granny gear and the truck is absolutely fun to drive. Also this is my first car 'truck' it had been sitting for about 2 years and had to go through everything and this forum has helped me a lot so I decided to finally join.

Standard Cabs have a painted grille and headlamp doors. Custom Cabs have an anodized aluminum grille (1962/64) and chrome headlamp doors.
1961 F100/350 Custom Cabs have a chrome steel grille.
Custom Cabs also have stainless steel windshield reveal mouldings that are missing on the truck pictured in post 6. The hubcaps are from a 1978/79 F100/150.

Good to see the public getting board of the stick on blue oval emblem on modern pickups. Remember when every styling cycle had a unique tailgate lettering font?

That was what the truck looked like when I bought it it ran and drove but it sat for 2years so I had to rebuild the brakes and a few other systems but I have no plans to paint it because I really like its patina it has changed since the picture it now has old tow mirrors, old clearance lights and a old school canopy. I will eventually post curant pics.

Welcome, Enjoy, and welcome to the slick sixties club. I would recommend you change the master cylinder from a single to a dual reservoir for safety reasons. If you have the slightest leak in any part of your brake system, you will lose all your brakes, but with a dual, you will only lose one set (front or back). It is easily and quite cheap to do. It may save you from going thru the garage door...lucky the parking brake was working. If you need help or advice, feel free to shout...we're here to help all.
