idle fluctuations
F-150 4.9 at startup and for about eight minutes idle fluctuates until it heats up. Turn it off and try it again same results but not as severe. I have an idea that it could be plugs or something to do with the ignition system. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Possible perps are the engine coolant temp sensor, inlet air control (iac)valve, and EGR valve. The way to test the iac is to pull the connector off while idling. If the engine stalls immediately, it is probably bad. If the engine shudders and shakes and finally stalls, it is probably OK.
First order of business is to scrub out the throttle bore where it mates with the butterfly valve. Fords are famous for gunk in the bore causing idling problems.
