Looking at buying a used ecoboost fx4, but want to get everyone's opinion on it before I put the money down. It is a 2014 with 10000 miles on it. Also thinking about hauling a slide in camper in the bed. Want some opinions if I should hold out for a max tow truck? Tell me what you think, more opinions the better.
Not sure what slide in camper your talking about, but most are pretty darn heavy, even the ones that the camper companies "say" are for a F-150. The Lance 825 is lister at over 1800lbs! That's empty, throw a couple hundred pounds of camping gear in it and your over a ton. Most people (experienced truck camper owners) recommend at least a 3/4 ton truck with air bags. I wouldn't wanna do it with a 150.
I see your a VA fella. Hang out at Assateague Island or the OBX near the OSV areas and talk to some of those guys. You rarely see a half ton truck with a camper.
Yeah i'm not experienced in camping at all. That's why i'm here, for you guys to tell me i'm wrong. Guess I'll start looking at f350's and see where it goes from there.
Yeah i liked that too, had me a little scared at first. thought the original engine blew and had a new one in it. But every vehicle on the lot has the guarantee except the diesels.
