I am looking at putting a 2 inch lift on my 86 f150 2wd and need to know what my factory shock length is and what my new shock length should be. I am think a simple cost effective 2 inch lift with 2 inch coil spacers on the front and 2 inch blocks on the back I will probably replace the coils and leaf springs while I'm at it.
With 2 inch coil spacers you will be borderline trying to get it back in alignment. There was a guy on here the other day that was looking at a rough country 2.5 inch lift and it comes with the proper brackets and stuff so you can get it back in alignment.
All you have to do is take a jack, and jack up the frontend by the frame 2 inches, and then stand back and look at your front tires. You will see what I am talking about.

Have you considered doing a 2" body lift instead of a 2" suspension lift? You'll get the same tire clearance and its a lot cheaper. Of course there are pros and cons to both methods.

It's easier than a suspension lift. Just need a floor jack and some blocks of wood (and air tools really make it go fast). And no alignment needed afterwards.
Were you planning to do the suspension lift yourself? Were you going to replace the brake lines with longer lines? It's a lot of work either way.
