Will tire mismatch cause problems?

Just picked up an 04 F150 fx4. 3 of the tires are goodyear wranglers and one is a firestone. They are all the same size. Should I get all 4 tires same brand? Will it cause an issue if I don't?

General rule of thought is yes they should match on the axle if not full time all wheel drive. Since they are all the same size assuming they are all in good shape I would put the mismatched on the rear and not worry about it until they are worn out.

On our explorer I put new rear tires on and thats when it all started. The full time 4x4 was always trying to compensate for the smaller dia front tires. I put new front tires on and all is good. Rule of thumb is 3/32 tire difference. I learned. 2008 explorer
