what is the life expectancy of injectors on the 4.6 engine?
i will be changing the intake on my crown vic soon, and am preparing a list of things to do while i have it apart.

I'm driving an '00 E250 w/5.4 motor, 275K miles & OEM injectors---not bad life for such parts IMHO.

ok, that is one thing to scratch off the list then. i am going to replace the plugs while i have it apart, i was not sure about injectors though. i figured they would still be good, the car only has 74k miles on it.

Overall injectors seem to be one of those parts the modular motors that are very very long lived and reliable.
Plugs every 50K miles regardless what the owners manuals say---just good idea IMHO. Check the boots too---those can be problematic with age.

got it all back together and #5 is now dead.
i picked up 8 new coils and new plugs on the way home today.
and of course it had to start raining as i walked out of the ford dealer parts department..
