I used to make these 30-40 years ago, before snap on came out with sets. I use broken truck hoist cables. The wire is really strong steel. Cut, bend and sharpen to suite your need. I also usually remove the ****. This one I just made to get some pesky O-rings out of the groove.
I have a couple of those in my tool box. Glad to see someone else had the same idea. I also got a hand full of dental picks from my dentist. Apparently when they break the tip off they can't use them anymore and just throw them out.
