tool storage for work

The supervisor at work wants me to come up with a way to store some basic hand tools at work. I was thinking about making a shadow board. Does anyone have any advice for doing this? I am open to other ideas too. The tools need to easy to see and keep organized. These tools get used by about 30 people so they have a habit of walking off.

Pegboard

I just finished a pegboard/shadowboard for my tools.

In order to keep tabs on who-has-what tools, I suggest issuing name "chits", (little round brass washer type or any other thin metal). Each person would be given 2 or 3 of them with their name stamped on them. When they take a tool, you put their "chit" on the hook which held the tool they need and that way, you always know who has what tool.

I got my Ideas for my board from: www.lehighgroup.com/howto.htm

Good luck and have fun!
