My guess is that there's a tiny issue somewhere that hasn't been found or it's just craving more air which is why I got Glenn to do some updates to his existing turbo awhile back to see if it helps at all. Live tuning may help it a bit and it should, but I have this feeling that he's working his truck harder than any of the rest of us and that's why the 66 falls a little short for him, but not everyone else. If that's the case, he needs to force more air down it's throat.

I was thinking more along the lines of an S300 67mm FMW.. such an animal does exist now. It didn't exist when Glenn got his turbo or else I would have tried to push him towards that from the start...

Every truck is different and no truck will run the best it can without a professional tuner sitting in the seat live tuning. Period.

Tuning is critical with any combination, but you really need to size the hard-parts accordingly to start with, based on the use of the truck too.
So Live tuning I am sure will help, but regardless the Stage-2's move a LOT of fuel quickly and very, very good tow tunes are required to be able to keep temps in check. I never recommend Stage-2 injectors for a truck that will be towing heavy. If the customer insists then I try and push to get Live tuning. The difference will be amazing if everything in the truck is working correctly.

A few years back I sent Bill at PHP a set of 350/400% that he put in his stock Excursion (if I recall correctly) and he drove around for a couple months live tuning it. He was rather impressed how well he got them to run, smoke free and all. But he said forget about trying to tow with them.
My point is just about any injector can be tuned back, but there are limits to what tuning can do.

I think if I was Glenn, I'd probably run 160/30% or 200/30% with the 366 and Live tuning and have an awesome towing machine.
In fact I have a set of 200/30% I will be swapping into my '96 (which has a 38R) and pulling the Stage-2 as I am trying to make decent power with no smoke. Even the Stage-2's on a low tow tune smoke more than I like, yet have all the power I need or want for a daily driver. So we'll see.

I won't argue too much Travis, but some. If you see what Jim said and go a little deeper. You are dumping the same amount of fuel, but faster. Ya gotta "burn" that, so more fuel = more heat. You need a real good tow tune to make 2's work, well my ones work pretty darn good and I'm in my extreme tune towing a 48' 17k wall, not fighting egt's. Just sayin. I've actually never even tried a tow tune. My ones spray the same amount of fuel, but not as fast, so there is not as much heat at once.

Mine works real well, but live tuning would always be nice. However, I don't see that happening too soon where I live. I'm thinking I can get even better with some datalogging on my AE and sending my results in and get tunes updated for the hydra. That emailing tunes is nice.

Glad I carry extra parts with me for the truck and satellite! I got drowned by 4" of rain the other night and my satellite quit. Being out in the middle of nowhere now where there isn't even cell phone reception can be a little frightening for a FTE addict. Replaced my transmitter and I'm online just in time to hear my name being thrown around, LOL

The other day I was against 40mph head winds and went thru 6 gallons of water in 100 miles but I did pretty good EGT wise. But, I have better things to do then fill that container all the time. All this talk is right up my alley and is very interesting, thanks guys. I have to figure out when to make my appointment for live tuning! Next winter s367 and I's, huh?

The amount of fuel you have to burn is no different between the two if they are both run at full tilt. What does change is injection quality (atmomization) and that can hurt EGTs a bit.. Injecting the same amount of fuel in less time is never a bad thing. At least in my opinion. Matt has my 100% nozzles burning really clean and cool. I haven't spent enough time with them yet to see if they have enough power to tow heavy without losing speed running uphill, but there's room to bump up the power without EGTs getting crazy. My tow tunes feel like they are right around 350-380hp or so.. Tony had my old 80% nozzles running pretty smoke free in the race tune also, but he live tuned those. This is Matt's first set of tunes for my 100% nozzles.

Have you tried Gearhead tunes Jim? His first shot tuning my 100% nozzles are clean, smooth, and have pretty good power. Not as much power as my Wildman tunes, but the non existance of smoke and heat is a nice trade off.

It sounds like we need to build you a bigger tank! (I work at a tank shop.) That's a lot of water for not too many miles.
