the way the guy explained it to me was that he could get the same amount of fuel into the cylinders but much quicker which shortens the timing window and thus it could be slightly later, resulting in a cooler engine. He said it was a night and day difference. But it seems like most people are suggesting sticking with smaller injectors so I think I will do that, so long as people think the EGTs will be fine...
Like I said Darin tuning is the key.
Take two exact trucks built the same way for towing and towing the same load one with "custom" tunes and one with live tunes and the one with live tuning will run cooler.
I know most is in tuning, but you still have more fuel. More fuel is more heat to get rid of. No way around that, unless you detune the twos for less fuel.
I've tried 4 different tuners hot tunes, custom tuned for my truck. All of them are different driving, and datalog different, but all stay real close to 1200 max egt at wot in OD. Glenn has a crapload of custom tunes for his too, but his egt's are much higher.
^I think that is the point right there. You tune the 2s to deliver the same amount of fuel that you would on a hot tune with stage 1s, but the 2s can deliver it faster. Therefore the timing window is shorter, so it can be retarded slightly, resulting in less heat.

I'm really not trying to argue.
I'm not either. Just discussing.
StageII's are not dumping anymore than 1's. The bigger nozzles just dump the fuel faster for a better spray and more complete burn

OP: I was in the same boat a year ago this month.. I had a TS, intake and exhaust.. My inj were going out and I opted for stages2s. They are awesome, smokey, and will kill your stock components!!! I wasn't too* abusive to the trans/truck, but the trans was dead 7 months later. You can get real stupid and hit 1500* without realizing it. Turbo is on its way out and I need an intercooler something severe. Stage 1's would have been a better choice for my application.
yeah i am leaning that way myself. Rosewood makes a 1.5 that might be a good middle ground. Easy enough on factory components but with room to grow. Has anyone dealt with Rosewood?

Rosewood is awesome. Give Jim a call. That is who I went with, couldn't be happier for the price.
Stg2's might not be bad. Decide how much $$ you want to spend. With the 5spd it is a lot cheaper to hold up to those inj. My auto set me back a pretty penny..
Maybe others could chime in on turbo for stg 2s. Would an intercooled say Barder (or D66 equivalent) be sufficient? I'm trying to decide myself if I should waste my time with one or wait for a t4/t4i setup. The stg2s were the same price as 1/1.5s.

I think almost everyone who has posted on this thread has dealt with Rosewood! LOL! Jim is a great guy to deal with, builds quality injectors, and is a forum sponsor. You can't go wrong with Jim!
