My last conversation with Harvey (big guy at Dennis Carpenter) still no word.
Different issues keep popping up. They still haven't had anything they can look at and approve.
When they have something that they can look at and approve, I will be notified and sent the first grille. I will then do all the measurements from hole to hole, then mock it up on my front end. I will get in touch with Harvey as soon as I'm done. (same day I receive it) and give him my findings.
Harvey and I have been corresponding for about 18 months now.
and he wants this grille to be a perfect fit, unlike the fiasco with the 66 grilles.

dennis carpenter grilles

thanks for the info Robert it seems that they have been having some serious issues with these grilles and I know dennis does not want to put a product out there that does not meet his standards or worst still ruin his reputation for selling bad stuff I have brought most of my stuff from him and have never had any problems the thing that ticks me off is the po put those stupid reflectors on there they are the genuine ford product I just don't like them and don't see the need for them if I could pick up a 70 model valance panel and a good grille shell I would do it I prefer the 70 model grille to the 69

D0TZ-17A862-A (replaced C7TZ-17A862-A) .. Valance Panel / Obsolete

Applications: 1967/72 F100/350. Note: The original 1967/69 panel (C7TZ-17A862-A) will not fit 1970/72.

1970 grille shell is 1970 only.

About 7 yrs ago I bought a new steering wheel from Dennis Carpenter. I first thought shzt they sent me a demo display wheel as it had nicks and scratchy in the spoke areas..

With near $250 with shipping I called customer service they sent out another wheel. Holy mother wtf it was worse!.

A call back to customer service and he Harvey may have been his name said he'd go check them out and sent me a hand picked good one.

An hr later called me back said return the wheels as they had two problems

1. the die needed to be repaired.
2. A dump *** who was molding them.

So Harvey here's what he told me, he went to the guy doing the steering wheel molding an said dude if you bought a new pair of $40 jeans and they had a hole in the knee area would be happy with them? (well no he said)

Well this what's happening with the wheels your molding.
Their all being sent back from unhappy customers.

This was what customer service had told me.
Plus, the molder will be looking for a new job shortly.
It would be mouths to get new wheel back on the market, I was told.

I think some of those screwed up wheels are still being sold on ebay at a 1/3th off the retail price like $199 or so:

My story did not end there as, I later called NPD and asked who made the steering wheels ? I said DC if so they had troubles with their S-Wheel lady said oh no so, I ordered one. just sure as all shxt smells the wheel came from NPD and it was just like DC WHEELS. So send it back..

Did I have enough abuse yet No! So called LMC asked about their Steering Wheels and, I said listen every vendor who's selling DC steering wheels have all been a defects. Would please telling me if DC is your supplier Aaaaa yes sir, I said thank you and hung up.

Well never did buy a new steering wheel yet but found pretty nice PnP wheel
No cracks in the spoke bar but one little line crack outer spoke area the my steering wheel cover hides..

So it's still good shape with after 6 yrs or so even with my manual steering.
