Hi guys I have a 1988 F250 with the 351w auto trans 3/4 ton rear wheel drive. My engine is being very moody sometimes it's hard to start but than sometimes it's not it drives great gets up to speed great for being a 3/4 runs great when at a stop light in drive with brake applied but it does not like being in reverse it just wants to die like its out of gas and has occasional hard start but very rarely does it happen just concerned because yesterday it was in reverse stalled started back up with a slight stumble backed it up put it in park proceeded to surge and went back to normal Rpm's I took to my mechanic today to pull codes but it didn't have anything on it. But he said my Throttle cable was sticking on him and it wouldn't respond Could it just be there's slack in my cable? And it's causing it to act up? I just recently did Gas tank sending unit fuel lines fuel filter plugs wires and cap oil change with filter new battery and cables Starting solenoid Pcv valve New map sensor Cleaned up IAC and new Air cleaner. Thanks in advance for opinions on this

I have some of the same issues try the cheap things first like the fuel regulator, fuel filter, and it could be a few other things but lemme know if any of that works.
