MadPogue thank you!!! Didn't find out what psi I need at idle or WOT or anything... still looking there. But i will definitely check the fuel pressure tomorrow!!
Update but not a good one. I put a new cps in and it did same thing. didn't get a pressure tested as the parts store didn't have One. Will get one tomorrow at harbor freight When I go to Town To pick up gf. Anything I need other than the guage itself?
Update!!
I have low fuel pressure at the tire fitting jobby in front of the fuel bowl. It is a fitting facing the driver fender and looks like a tire valve. It was reading about 40 psi. That's the fuel pump right then? Or how do I diagnose from here?
I have read anywhere from 60 psi give or take 10 each way. I will say I noticed when I had it all hooked up, it started to rough idle right off the bat instead of waiting for a minute or so... so that did change something... what plugs into the spot right after where I changed it? It's 1 wire plug... curious if that's what us bad...
I don't have any useful solutions for your problems, but I did want to say Welcome to FTE Hope you get your truck running correctly soon, the guys on this forum can be a tremendous help, and they are really tolerant of folks like myself who have a lot to learn.
Thank you for the welcome tasilium!! Little update.. I guess... idling it is rough... but if I'm sitting and have the break on... slowly let out the clutch it evens out and sounds like your normal diesel and doesn't shake to death...
Will defiantly look into that as well once I get my shaky idle figured out...it alost makes me think it's not the fuel pump because it rises the fuel pressure when I put it under load... Normal right?
Your fuel pressure is good. I had the same problem a couple years ago and for the life of me I cannot recall what caused it. I will try to remember and post up.
It almost makes me think it's a harmonic balancer or like the clutch/flywheel because of how it acts under load when clutch ebgaged. Like in neutral or just sitting some weight somewhere is thrown off But when engaged and under pressure it evens out perfectly...
That dual mass clutch will rattle when it is failing. It makes a horrible noise especially when the motor is shut down. Most of us have gone to the single mass LUK or Valair clutches. That very well might be why it's shaking when at idle.
