On the windshield, i heard they offer the car lite acoustic galss that fits the super duty 99-current. It has an additional mass layer to dampen road noise. I believe it is called sound screen, that will be my next windshield seeing how quiet the 11+ trucks are (realizing they have additional damping)

Yes, the acoustic front windshield became available on the SuperDuty beginning in 2014.

I ordered a replacement "Sound Screen" from Ford to replace the OEM "Sound Screen" on our 2011 Ford SUV. Our 2008 version of the same vehicle did not have the "Sound Screen", and what a difference between the 2008 vs the 2011 in terms of interior quietness.

Unfortunately, a gravel truck took out our OEM 2011 Sound Screen, so I had to replace it. I ordered directly from Ford, through my dealer, specifiying the OEM glass only. When it came in, it did not say "Sound Screen" on it. I was a little upset about that, and so was the Ford Service Manager, who knew that is what I was after, and who has known me personally for almost 20 years.

We triple checked part numbers, and looked at the all the glass markings carefully. It did say "Acoustic", so we gave up and decided to just assume it's the same thing. The SUV doesn't seem any louder with the new glass, so I think we got it right.

Be aware of this labeling change between production installed glass and glass provided as parts when ordering from Ford. I specifically got the glass from Ford, rather than a sub contracted glass supplier, in order to get that quieter glass.

My truck had a crappy visor of some sort on it when I bought it. The windsheild was just replaced before I bought the truck, it was clear the visor had been removed.

I ended up removing the visor...screwed on....

body shop wanted $800 to fill holes and paint roof.

I cheaped it and filled the holes myself and rattle canned it.

Less than $25 in materials and I am more than happy with the result, no it's not perfect, but the roof doesn't leak and there is no visor....

Just to follow up, I got my truck back from the local paint joint and overall it looks pretty good. I had them strip the roof and do what they can within reason on the rust. Most of the rust was away from the visor remarkably, mostly around or near the cab lights. It looks better but not perfect which is about all I can expect without significant rebuilding.

I have to make a decision about putting the visor back on or filling in the holes with something (which will always look poor).

I'm leaning towards cleaning the surface, waxing the **** out of the area under the visor, putting the dabs of silicone around the holes (or is there a better sealant to use?) and reinstalling the thing.

Does that make sense?

When first removed my crapvisor I just filled the holes with silicon. I drove it a winter that way. Eventually the silicon failed....

I tapped each hole gently "in" with the round end of a ballpein hammer, then just used body filler. Painted the smooth off holes, no leaks and "matches" No, it doesn't look factory original, but I'm not a bodyman.....

I am far happier with "DIY" roof fix than the crapvisor.

You could weld the holes in, but that would require removing the headliner and putting something in the cab to prevent fire/melting under what you are welding.
