The lack of a flex section between the two headers can cause problems. It works ok to have a solid connection if the two side joint together further down the line (alows some flex) but if they connect strait together that close together they are put under lots of force and fatigue.

Looks like they're going to Snowseeker first... can't wait to see what he does to them! I'm almost afraid that he'll somehow pull an extra 10HP out of them lol

I almost kinda wish I didn't know just to have that wth feeling when I open a box of headers I am not expecting.

Can't weld rust so I threw the headers in the 'make new again' cabinet to see what I was workin with.









Even cleaned up its still bird poop. The saying persists that you can't polish a turd!

Sorry for crappy pictures. Ran over the worst of the bird poop, yes it still looks unpenetrated on the flange side of the weld but it is for sure all good.






Crack-b-gone, mine is the little tiny weld to the left if you can't tell. It is where the crack used to be. All the welds on the headers should look like this from the beginning.
