My 88 F350 that I just picked up for my buisness on driving it home started to scream at me from the Trans. about a mile out, having a bad alternator(stuck brushes, OK now) I had no lights so went the last mile to get home, next day checked trans fluid (ZF) and it had a whole cup in it! It didn't throw it, it just didn't have any in it, so now I have a couple at the local junkies but they are from 92's with the electronic speedo so my question is, what is involved in the speedo change?, the trans swap is very farmiliar but I wanted to be prepared as far as the speedo goes.
I think 92 and later get a signal from the rear anti lock brake system. You will probably have to get a different gauge cluster to make it work. The sensor is the VSS(vehicle speed sensor) I believe, not sure on that. You never know, sometimes I'm right.
