As much as anyone, I would like more power out of my truck. I can my 94 maf operated truck read pressure rather than vaccum, and would it know how to use injectors in the case of forced induction? I found something interesting, what do you guys think on having a fan on the inside of your intake that runs on electricity. don't want headers because I kinda am under the impression that they will get holes burned through them. I have a straight pipe already so my exhaust is fine with me. I don't want a supercharger because I feel like that would just destroy engine life.
My truck just does not seem to have power, I mean it's pretty stock but I feel like a 0-60 of 18 seconds is way to long. Or is this a normal time And I'm worried about nothing? I don't want to re do my rear end because I like getting good high way mileage And I just replaced to oil back there. Anyone have some advice for me?
Also if this link works, here is the fan I'm considering. Would it be better as one fan before the maf sensor? Or would it be better as two fans in front of the throttle body?
Bud I am not trying to be a buthole here, but if you believe that over glorified computer fan will give you any power what so ever, you shouldn't be allowed to wrench on a vehicle in my books.

Well I appreciate the honesty. I was going to give something along the lines of a y type and leave my normal filter on one side and then when I need the extra power, turn on the fan so that way it may force power and that way the fan wouldn't clog up my intake. I figured a fan with 19000 rpm could at least make a little boost even though its only 3 in. If it's really that bad of an idea I guess it might not have potential.
No help on my maf being able to read and accept boost? Say if I were to do a legit turbo, would my truck know what to do?
Thanks.
18sec 0-60 is terrible, what are the full specs for your truck.. what trans, axle gearing, tire size? What fuel milage does it get? Have you checked fuel pressure and for codes?
build a 351 stroker, run NA and call it a day. cheaper, youd have a fresh engine, and 350hp and gobs of tq will at least make it feel better. better figure out a trans though....
My truck is a 302 V8, I'm pretty sure I have an E4OD transmission. I have no idea what my gearing is, I'm guessing like 350ish gears, also I have 32's on, I didn't want to go that big but my dad bought them for my birthday when I was 16 and the guy talked him into 32's. I wanted to just go 30 so I plan to go with that when these ones are gone. I get about 13-14mpg combined. I drive 45 highway miles a day and about 20 miles in town each day.
Could A sensor or something be broken on my truck and not give me a check engine code? Because I don't have a check engine light. I tried to run it for codes once and I couldn't figure it out, just kept saying make sure the ignition is off and make sure all connections are good, and I made sure at least 5 times before I gave up. I guess you got a point that if it worked, we would all throw them on.

I would do that if I could, I really want this truck to have power and I like working on it. The thing is that I drive it 60-70 miles every day. I don't really have the time or the real cash to take it apart unless I get something else and I can't afford more insurance Or a payment.

its a 94 302, Pretty sure its an E4OD, I think the axel is like 350ish gears but I'm not real sure, i have 32s on, it gets 13 mpg Combined. how do i check my fuel pressure? I kinda want to dyno my truck to get all the real specs on it.
I think the axel is like 350ish gears but I'm not real sure,
Find the axle code on the drivers door pillar and post it up. For better performance and fuel milage with 32s it really should have 4.10 gears, if it turns out your truck has 3.08 gears that would explain the horrible 0-60 times.

So my truck has an H9 axel so it already has 3.55 gears. Unless it's been changed before I got it.
I kinda think the 3.73 axel type would be the best for me but I don't wanna chang front and rear axels So if 3.55 isn't enough then I guess I will just have what I have. I did a little digging and the Rangers used clear up past 4.10 gears, would one of those match up to my truck? I think I want either F6 or R6? They are 3.73 axels and they are limited slip.
My truck seems to need to shift down on even little inclines so I and back and fourth a lot between 3rd and 4th gear. Should our trucks be able to burn out? mine just like stands up, like the rear tires just get close to the front so the truck lifts up. I was behind a bronco on the way home and there is a really steep hill on the way back everyday and I always loose speed like 5 miles per hour going up and he kept going the same speed(I mean I have no idea if he had the 351 or anything). maybe being a 17 year old I just feel like there should be more as childish as that seams. tomorrow I plan to check my base timing. Any other ideas on why my truck is so slow?
