accel 71000 from hell
I have a accel 71200e on my 390, this thing has been giving me a bunch of issues. The ignition module in it was not wanting to start cold, some times quit hot, bad erratic ideal and hatted low power. I ripped that joke out and installed a msd 6a box, that advanced by about 7-10*. To fix the issues it gave of trying to fire at the edge of the rotor when set to ~10*, I wallowed the mount screws for the vac adv. I realized now
less than 10* gives back fires off ideal
~13* initial gives far wot off ideal but dead at higher rpm
~18* initial gives so-so wot an so-so top end
~23* initial gives a dead wot an far top end, it dose give a smooth ideal around so this is were the vac will be set to
anymore than that i start getting pinging at acceleration so no testing
I checked out how much mechanical advance I had and found I only have 5-8* between ideal to 3k. I need to find a curve spring for this but not seaming to find any, gap with a spring installed is about 1in
