trans temp sensor

Hey all been a couple of years since I've been on just a guick question where is the trans temp sensor on a 2008 f250 super duty 5.4. I've yet to crawl under there. My drive way is frozen mud. Just thought if someone could point me in the right direction I would have to role around under there for to long

See ATTACHED! It's for a 2004, but I believe yours is the same setup.

Thanks that does save some rolling around under the truck Does anyone know if ford puts synthetic fluid in if not should I switch to synthetic 75,000 miles on it I've had it for 45000

There isn't an appreciable difference. I don't know what Mercon SP is, and it doesn't matter in my opinion. It needs to be changed every 30,000 miles if you have an external filter and 60,000 miles if you don't. Fluid that meets the correct spec is important. Do NOT get a "multi use" fluid that claims compatibility with Mercon V and SP.

If it were my truck I'd be looking for genuine Motorcraft Mercon SP or LV. If not one of those find an aftermarket fluid certified to the same standard.

If you have the 5r110, it takes approx 15 qt's including tq.
I only use Motorcraft SP when changing out.
