Hotter Spark Plugs?

Hotter Spark Plugs?
Was at Autozone yesterday and a question came up , if you put a plug in with a hotter heat range will it harm the engine on newer cars and trucks because of the computer? Some of us were batting this around and really came up with no firm conclusion...I know we used to do it on the old cars and trucks with no problems but really don't know about the computerized stuff.One of the guys there was going to do it to help his engine with burning off some oil...let's hear your opnions guys.
