Newby here but have been lurking for a while, in fact this site was a major help in making the decision to purchase our Excursion. We needed a vehicle to haul horses and be able to carry 5-6 passengers comfortably. The Excursion seemed to be the only vehicle with the size and grunt to get it done down here in South Florida. We now have a 2005 Limited 4x4 with a 6.8L that at the time of purchase had 43,904 miles and in great shape. Thanks to you all this seemed to be a no brainer and 9 months later zero complaints or problems. Well just one complaint...this is my wife's daily driver not mine!
Once I get the pics figured out I'll post, just got this new laptop so I need to get on point. Thinking about wheels and tires BUT am weary of aftermarket rims due to the hauling and loads it carries, opinions appreciated from the heavy haulers out there. Paddle mirrors are out and maybe different running boards as well. Thanks again
Welcome to FTE! I bought my Ex to tow horses as well. I just decided to go the diesel route. Nice work on finding one with such low mileage! Yes pictures pictures, we all want pictures.
Congrats on your Ex and welcome to the club, I'm in Fort Lauderdale and would be happy to show you how to spend money on your EX. My last ex was a 4x4 limited 6.8 ,and can also guide you to the best mechanics (dealer) in town if your not far. Good thing is the 6.8 usually doesn't need one
I tried to get my buddy to let go of his 01 Ex 7.3L but no go and after about a year of searching this one came up so I couldn't let it go. My 17 year old daughter is into the horses so it feels good to know she and the wife have a rig to get the job safely done.
