Ford 59 Panel from Mexico

Greetings from Mexico

I just bought a panel 59, was ambulance for 10 years.

Something strange they did here in Mexico from the Dealership changed the serial number, Instead of bringing the letter of the plant where it was built hast the letters "MEX"

I think it is in very good condition has very little rust only on the right fender and a little down in the corner in the cabin.

It has always been in a covered place, the engine runs well, they changed the gearbox by a newer 4-speed.

My intention is to go slowly repairing. I hate the windows that made him, I'll see if I can cover.

From what I've seen the hood is not the appropriate, has a 58, its missing handles and details indoors, but has the original seats.

What I saw that I need and I think it will be a headache is the tail lights.

I canīt use for now, the last time they used it ran out of brakes. They say he was to enter the garage, hit the brakes and went to the bottom and the liquid is drained out of the top of the tank.

I leave the truck to for inspection.

Can you help me with that battery is correct? Has the CID 292 V8 engine.

Regards.

Nice looking truck. I've never seen tail lights like that and the original type are impossible to find..

I have a question.

In this Panel model the door locks are optional?

My truck has none, do not know if they covered the holes in the doors or never had any.

Searching the internet I've seen photos of trucks also without these.

Nice truck. glad you are going to fix it up. It looks brand new compared to what you find up here in New york state. I have seen the correct tail lights on Ebay before but they are not cheap. you will have to keep watch and wait. NAPA sells the correct size and shape battery but I can't recall the number of it. I believe there should be at least a lock on the driver's side door. If you remove the panel on the inside of the door you may be able to tell if it has been removed, it is not a very big hole. The custom cab package came with two locks. The custom cab also had the chrome trim around the windsheild which yours does not have so there was probably only one to start with. Is not not completely unusal to have a '58 hood on a '59, it happens. Not a bad combination. Enjoy your new truck.

Thanks for reading and your post.

I took the panels and you are correct spurredon, only the drivers door has the look, but I need to order the new looks and the mounting system, What shops recommend to buy accessories? I have a Ford '36 Club Cabriolet and I only know Mac's.

Any one has the diagram for the Cluster? Nothing works and the fuse are a mess.
