Fuel Pump

When I replaced mine, I removed the oil pressure gauge sender and the pipe it screws into. Then after removing the fuel lines, I used a 13mm "wiggle" (universal) socket at the end of a long extension.

Hope this helps

It's been a couple of years, but that oil pressure sender and it's connected pipe sure interfere with getting at the fuel pump. I removed mine from up top if that makes a difference.

Fuel Pump

I am just stating the obvious but some times it helps. Check your air cleaner & breather hose, and another Idea is to clean your fuel system & tank, I used Barrymans B-12 Chemtool its old school but it works. any sediments, rust or dirt will clog the lines. Is 84 a carb or fuel injected either way clean the fuel distribution area such as the throttle body or carb. If your problem is not that simple move on to your ignition system: timing, distributor or coil. That is my opinion anyway, hope it helps
