Im going to start out and say Im a complete noob. But, Im trying to learn anything and everything I can so bare with me. Im looking for a set of rims that can widen my trucks stance. I recently bought this 99 F-250 Super Duty that I use mainly for traveling back and forth to work and as a fun toy on a rainy day. The truck came with a set of 16 inch Mickey Thompson rims and a set of Toyo 315-75/r16 preinstalled on the stock ride height. For the mean time I was wondering of switching out the rims for a set of black ones and getting a negative offset to give it a wider stance. I do not know the exact rim width but Im guessing its a size 16x10. I would appreciate your guys inputs. Thank you.
so u want to keep your same tires? and get new rims for them? if so you should check on your tires specs for recommended rim widths to see the widest recommended. they you would know if wider is a good choice. and also download one of the offset calculators that will figure rim widths, and offset of your before and after set up to tell you the net change.
Another way to widen stance is with a quality set of wheel spacers, i have used them on 4 different super duties over the past 10 years and never had a problem.
Thanks guys! And kengarchow, what wheel spacers would you recommend? I really like the wide stance look, having more of the whole wheel stick out more past the fender-well.
