I have a 2006 Expedition Eddie Bauer 2wd with the 5.4l Triton. 100k miles.
A little while back i got an ABS light on. Pulled a chassis code for the right rear wheel speed sensor. I replaced it. Cleared the codes and it came right back on without even driving it.
I bought a new sensor to see if maybe i bought a bad one. Plugged it in, cleared the code...and the light stayed off.
So, today, I pull the sensor out to put the newest one in and notice that the end is ground down or broken off. I pulled the original one out of the trash and found it too was ground down or broken. Not sure how i missed it the first time.
Anyways, ive attached a photo so you can see the difference. Any ideas? Thanks for your help. Super Frustrated.
Did you first confirm it was worn by checking for excessive side to side play? My diagnosis is only a starting point, I can't confirm it myself since I am not there.
