Looking to tow a 4500lb travel trailer over a couple of mountain passes this upcoming week. Curious as to what is the maximum (Safe, low risk of causing damage, etc) EGT would be. The previous owner had made a red line at 1300F on the pyrometer. I know it can likely hit that temp and be okay but, for how long? If I wanna pull a grade for a fair amount of time, I'd like to know my time/temp limit.

On my hypermax turbo, I never allow myself to exceed 1250*F. As specified in the hypermax documentation. Whenever it gets up higher than that, I give it less pedal.
What diameter exhaust do you have? I recently upgraded to 3 1/2" exhaust with Walker Dynamax straight thru muffler, and now it's really hard to get my EGT's above 1000*F unless it's really pulling a lot up a massive hill.
It has a Hypermax exhaust (3-3.5") but, I don't think it's a full exhaust. Looks to be stock and skinny shortly after the headers. I pulled a decent grade today @55/1800rpm and was pushing 1200F. That lasted about 90 seconds.
