Thanks, no I just you have a Plt model and was wondering if they have different lighting from LED's. I am betting Ford will go that route and shuck those pitiful and embarrassing yellow lights my KR has/had.
We don't see too many Plts down here in ranch country, most KR's.
I agree, lots of benefits with LED for sure. Looking forward to pulling some triggers on lights!
I don't, but their kit is pretty nice. I like the looks of it. I've often thought of doing the exact same thing on my truck with different lights. Not saying I know anything about the RC lights. Just that I thought about doing it before I saw their kit. I never did because I didn't want to hack up my grill. Their kit looks to avoid that.

You're right, looks like a nice install...I ordered a double light set (top and bottom of the grill), as well as a 20" double row bar for the lower grill opening. Should be here Friday...going to look like a big sun coming down the road LOL. The grill set does require trimming of the grill, thats ok, I'll survive. Pics or it didn't happen...got it
I've been on an LED tear lately...reverse lights, cargo lights, bed lights, and now these babies on the way. Also just ordered new map/dome/courtesy lights for inside the cab. I like LIGHT.
I put two flush mount 6 led cubes in my rear bumper and put them on Upfitter#4 for when I need to back up to hook up trailers. Built a template and attached it to the bumper with magnets and used a plasma cutter to cut the bumper. That was a whole lots slicker than the last truck where I used a dremel with a cut off blade to cut the bumper
I ordered a double row 27" LED bar to go behind where the front license plate sits in the lower bumper.
I thought about the single row 30" lights in the grilel like the photos above. You have to cut the honeycomb out of your grille to get those to fit in and looking at the brackets in the photo, Not sure what they are connecting to, Decided to pass on those for now and just try to the lower light bar for starters. It looked like it was pretty tight to get the lights in front of the radiator with out having them protrude in front of the grille

Sounds like fun! The single row 30" grille bars mount to the vertical metal supports in the grille...nuts and bolts. I get the cutting, that's fine...it's just plastic, and can be replaced.
NStorm, definitely interested in your impressions of the Rough country grill install. Been thinking of installing a light bar or two in the grill and that sure looks like a clean way to to do it. Hopefully the light bars are decent
If RC is selling LED light bars now you can bet they just source them from somewhere like China and put their name on them. I used to sell RC lift kits, a cheap lift kit and you got what you paid for.

My thoughts/fears as soon as I saw the link....but for ~$600, that's still half the price of ONE rigid bar!! Even if the light does crap out in a few years, you'll have the brackets to put whichever brand you want in, plus a few years of use..

Really bright led cargo lights.
Still want to see how they turn out NStorm, keep us informed! And where did you source all of these other replacement LEDs mentioned? Did the swap on my last truck and want to do it again! Kill the incandescent!!
Hey all, will definitely keep the group informed on the RC bars. I have every belief that they are sourced "somewhere else" but they come with a three year warranty... THREE YEARS...so I'm not too concerned. Plus, the reviews I've found online appear to be extremely favorable vs Rigid (still the king of the heap...but you're right, I get three bars for the price of one from them...still not cheap, but much more palatable) quite a few off-road boards and YouTube guys praising them. I looked at the Amazon Shenzen (sp) knockoffs...RC's are absolutely above that in terms of quality...every review mentioned leaks for the cheapos. I'm looking forward to the install this afternoon, everything is ready to go in once UPS stops by.
As for the remaining LED replacements, I have been using Amazon...a specific brand JDM ASTAR. Probably Chinese, but I don't care, they're less than some of the alternatives, and well built.... and much to my delight the upper housings are aluminum...the wedge into the socket is plastic. Good looking bulbs. Let me know if you'd like links. More to come later today.
When are you thinking of going with the RC install? I stumbled upon them a few days ago, and trying to decide between those, with Rigid driving lights to replace factory fogs, or a 20" dual row combo in the lower bumper. Can't beat the RC price. But they only come as 30° spot, hence why I would do driving or something in the factory fog location.
Think there are any fears of restrictions airflow putting them in the grill or covering the lower bumper? I wouldn't think so if you went one way or the other. Just something I thought of.

DONE! I hadn't thought about air flow...there's still a lot of room there. I'll keep an eye on engine and tranny temps this summer when puling, I don't anticipate an issue, still plenty of grille and lower opening for air movement.
