I installed my boost gauge along with the other 3 Isspro gauges I ordered and while the three work fine boost doesn't. If I have the running or headlights on the gauge doesn't work and it doesn't illuminate, the warning light just blinks, if the lights are off the gauge works like it should. Where should I start looking?
The #3 black wire (close to the middle on any single gauge connector) is the gauge power ground, and the #6 black wire (far right on boost connector) is the sensor ground. Make sure the two ground wires are not swapped, and that they have solid connection.
It could be one of the other wires, but your symptoms sound more like a funky ground.
All the wires are in the correct spots, they are all fully inserted( used the install tool and mini screw driver to check) and the gauge still doesn't light. It also makes a buzzing noise when the lights are turned on.
It could be a defective gauge, but the fact that it acts up with the lights on usually points to a wiring issue. Power to #1 and dash light voltage to #2?
Somehow after looking at my wiring several times I missed that I did put the illumination wire in the ground slot and vise-versa. Now everything works fine. Thanks Tugly.
That's no worse than the time I put my underwear on backwards - and didn't discover my faux pas until I was standing at the urinal. If anybody else was in the room, they'd be wondering "What... he can't find it?"
