Abandoned car auction, so hopefully buying... I have 3 I am looking at. There was an early Bronco there a while back, and a 67 Galaxie convertible once too. None like that this time, more the regular fare.

They both went north of $7000. Both were in real good shape though too. It is a mix of domestic and foreign. For the most part, look around you on the highways, and that is what typically is there. Some are impounded for no insurance, others are DOA. The two mentioned were storage units.

Whoa! Well, too bad. Be nice to be able to score some nice old iron without having to pay so much, but those days are probably long gone.

Happy Friday, indeed... I got laid off today.

Oh well, I was counting down the days until I was done with this job anyway. Those guys were starting to drive me nuts. I have my own theories on why I actually got the axe, but it's all just nothing but hearsay and ranting.

Got 150 acres of corn planted last week and finally got a rain that they were predicting for the first time this weekend so a few slow days now. Hoping to get the Expedition in my shop and do an alignment tomorrow, still drives great but is starting to feather the insides of the tires in front pretty bad.

Had a good weekend at the swap meet, got a hell of a deal on some Mustang parts. I needed the frame rails. I had priced them out new ant nearly $300 for each one, $600 for the pair. Come across a deal, they had both frame rails, door skins, doors to put them on, fenders, and one half floor pan section, asking $300... The guy wasn't there, so I came back a little later, and he was talking with someone else that also just needed the frame rails, he had offered to let the whole thing go for $200, the guy walked away. I was patiently waiting to see how that went, and so when the seller complained he had even offered it for $200 to him, I told him right there I would be happy to give $200 for them. Got the whole shebang... Only needed the frame rails, but I'll be damned if I was going to walk away. Then while tying down, they even gave me a couple ratchet straps as well! Plus, I got 4 tires elsewhere, when I went to pick them up, ended up with 5 more for free... Trouble there is they are a size I have no use for, but I can try to unload them on Craigs List.
