They help for the first 10" or so of the door, but the rest and the rear doors still see a lot of paint damage. I'm debating on adding some length to the front's to see if it would help.
Makes sense, since you guys put down rocks in the winter. If I lived there I wouldn't do these steps and would use bulletproof windshields lol
Michael, do you have the standard extension arms, or the longer arms for lifted rigs?
Also, would you mind measuring the distance from the top of the step to the bottom of the Excursion body panel?
Thanks!
Stewart
8.5" from top of step to bottom panel... When I ordered it I asked for standard size. They do offer an extension, but up to 6" lift its very comfortable.
Bye the way Stewart forced me to go out in the rain to measure this

Hey Michael!
Thanks for this info! It's very helpful.
I actually step into the Rhino without use of the running boards but my wife would love the retractible addition. Still considering them...
Welp, Hells Bells if she's on board what's the hold up? Lol get em coming and post some pics!
Hey A Rodder,
Good question. My wife is pretty awesome. She lets me do pretty much whatever I want, doesn't nag me (too much), likes comic book nerdy movies and tv shows, and after close to 20 years together she still lets me chase her around the bedroom from time to time!
So, to answer your question I guess it's the reason that I could use the cash for stuff I want/like more since I personally don't need the boards. AKA - They're not a priority yet and I'm a selfish *****, haha!

Awesome blossom Michael, thanks!

You live in Florida my friend, wait 5 minutes, the rain passes!
The wife said she wanted the AMP PowerStep so I called a shop in Spokane and received a quote of $1550 + tax, installed. I didn't think it was a bad price as the parts seem to run right around $1200.00 most everywhere, as best as I can tell. Anyway, guess what she says when I tell her the good news? Seriously, guess...
If you haven't guessed I'm back to the drawing board. I'm needing to come up with an option for running boards that extend lower than the OEM boards. I've done some research on boards that fit but it's been difficult to figure out how much distance I'll be making up?
You know what they say. Happy Wife, Happy Life. Right?

Next time do what I did. I burned a hole in my credit card and when the steps arrived, I told her I bought them because they drop 3.5" lower than the OEM bars I have on my truck right now, so it will be easier for her to get in the truck once her knees get fixed.
