Hey all, I've been doing a little shopping around and would like some input from those of you who may have already gone through buying a truck of this generation and getting some guidance on numbers.
Truck in question is a 2011 F-150, 5.0, crew cab xl with the basic options such as cruise, power windows n mirrors, blue tooth and whatnot. Truck has 112k miles, and looks like it was owned commercially in PA, one owner. I'd maybe assume it was a fleet truck.
Truck is very clean, drives great, new Goodrich rubber and is stock and unmolested to my fullest knowledge.
Asking price is 18k. This is my first time buying a truck that isn't a craigslist deal, and am trying not to show my ignorance to the folks at the dealer. I need a truck for work, and don't really care for the gadgets beyond what this has, but the crew cab in this thing is spacious!
Why not just Kelley blue book it? I would but I don't know all the options like if it's 4x4 and what not. That's high milage for a 2011. For a few more grand I think you can get something better with less miles. Just my opinion.

Id keep looking for something with less miles...having said that, new tires is a plus, lower options = less to fail so thats another plus. If you pull a carfax you might be able to get an idea of the previous ownership and use. $18K asking is maybe $15-16 selling...so that another +, depending on your budget and the trucks condition it could be a good fit.
112k is a lot of miles! I would look for something with fewer miles than that. A lot of people will say 100k is nothing, but why bother if you can find something better?
