Hello all; I need some information and advice on a truck I'm thinking about buying. The truck is an 2003 F150 XLT Extended Cab, 4.2V6, 5-spd, 27K miles. After a long talk the dealer quoted me $13,350.
What I'd like is to hear opinions from owners of similar trucks, what to look out for, etc. Also, what do you all think would be a good price to pay if I bought this truck? It drove real nice, has some scratch and dent on the body. I liked it, just wish it was cheaper. Thanks in advance for any advice you all can provide.
I assume it is 2wd, if so that is way too much. That same year truck was selling here new for that much with the V6 and 2wd, albeit they were reg. cabs.
Yes it is a 2wd. It is an extended cab with the extra two small doors. I felt it was too high, but that was the best price I could get them down to. Sticker price was $15k. I told them I'd think about it, but they really need to come off the price quite a bit more I think.

Reason: spelling
Local FORD dealer, Ocala, FL, is advertising brand new '08 F150's for $13,777. Around here there must be a zillion used FORD pickups gathering dust on car lots. In this economy it is a buyer's market. The dealer might only have half that "$15k" in it. Can you say Low Ball?
If you're serious about wanting "cheaper" consider searching for a private deal. Overhead at a dealer marks everything up. Distress at a private sale drives the price down.
