Hello guys and gals, I'm having problems finding a brake proportioning valve for my 82' F100 Stepside w/300 6cyl four speed with power brakes my junk yard here doesn't carry any parts that old for my truck. I've tried eBay with no luck. Does anyone know where I might find one. Thank you all.

I have a question maybe you can answer. I've replaced brake booster brake master cylinder and a couple lines and the brakes are working weird one time it's a hard pedal I let off and reapply then they are good. I've read where you should use a proportioning valve bleeding tool when bleeding the system so as to not engage the proportioning valve. So maybe I should get the tool and rebleed the system as the brakes were fine before. It's cheaper then buying a new valve. Have you heard this before. Thank you Fred
I've never heard (or can't remember) of that specific problem, it kinda sounds like the vacuum booster isn't always doing its job but I'd guess there could be other causes, too..
Here is what the book says about bleeding the brakes... yeah, they want you to use a spring-like tool to hold the pin out from the differential valve but I'd imagine you could use small Vice Grips® to do that, too...
