99-07(?) Improved cup holder options?

I have a 99 F250 and the typical "cup throwers" in the dash doused the kids in Diet DP again while I was going from 1st to 2nd. Are there any other options for dash mounted cupholders in the bigger trucks? These little thimbles just don't cut the mustard.

Considering these updated cupholders here that include a roll of tape and a pair of gold teeth inserts

Well, changed my search terms and found this. Looks like allaboutdiesels.com is dead but I might go with an 04 cupholder and see how that flies. Are you 04 and up guys happy?

Im interested in what you find. I hate every time I turn my drink flops under my feet just waiting to roll under the brake pedal and kill me! I think my father in laws excursion has the drink holder on top of the center flip up console. I'll have to check for sure.

It looks like they changed to springy side, drop down style in 2000. I ordered one off a 2002 and we'll see how that goes. Here's what the new ones that slide into the port (fits mine) look like:

My 99 Lariat has in-dash cup holders.
Are these the ones that you don't like?
The kind that has a folding section?

That's what I have on my '01. It does the job. A widemouth 16oz mason jar with thin coozy fits but I don't think anything much bigger around would fit. Internet says these jars are 3.25" OD. Might be able to go 3.5"?

We are talking 14 year old drink holder technology so there will be limitations.

These are the ones I have. They're definitely not worth anything. They're about 1 1/2 inches deep. You can't keep an idea in them, much less a coffee cup. My Route 44 DDPepper definitely flies.

Even with all my the parts intact the early style is at best a cup ejector.

The 02 style you picked up Glowplugger will be a big improvement.

I'm pleased with the ones in my 05' I've never had an ejection yet from the ones in the dash. Now the ones in the flip down console seat back thing well yeeeaahhhh!(in my best lumberg voice from office space) well them I've had issues with and usually don't use them for drinks anymore.

The only difference I can see, between his and mine, is that mine has retainers, his look like those retainers are missing. ???

So will this slide directly in place of the pos I have in my 99? If so, I'm ordering one today!
