MSD Distributor

I have a '85 F250 4X4 with a 351W and an NP435. Believe it or not the engine has never been into so the cam is still the original cam. My question is can anyone tell me the part number for the correct MSD distributor that would go in my truck? I have already upgraded to a duraspark 2 ignition system. I have upgraded the duraspark 2 by changing to an MSD 6AL ignition module and an MSD Blaster 2 coil.

Now I want to upgrade again so I contacted MSD about which distributor and plug wires I need. They gave me the part number for the plug wires (31329) and the part number for the distributor I need. Now for the problem and the reason for this thread. I ask them if the wire set had a coil wire that would fit the blaster 2 coil, they said yes it has the correct coil wire that fits the blaster 2 coil. The blaster 2 coil looks like the older canister type coil used in the 60's and 70's. I got the wire set in today and the coil wire in it DOES NOT fit the blaster 2 coil. The blaster 2 coil takes a coil wire with a male end and the coil wire in the kit has 2 female ends. So now I am wondering if they gave me the part number for the correct distributor to fit my engine.

I would appreciate any input you gentlemen can give me please. I am sure I can adapt/modify the coil wire to work if I can't get the correct coil wire. I also know with the wrong gear on the distributor I can do a lot of damage to my engine so I thought I would ask the experts to make sure I get the correct part number before I order anything. The part number of the distributor they recommended is 8584, is this the correct distributor? Your input would be greatly appreciated gentlemen. Thank You

That part number is correct for your 351W. The Blaster 2 coil is the recommended coil but as your noticed, there is a mismatch in the type of coil wire (the coil has a female socket and the distributor/wires are male terminals.
There should be an adapter that came in the distributor packaging that goes on the coil. At least my MSD Distributor came with one.

This is what it looks like HEI Coil Wire, Blaster 2, SC, Black - 84033

Man I got to tell you....life has been crappy these last few days in my neck of the woods. But I get on here today and learn a lot about the type of differentials I am wanting to put in my truck. With the info I gained on here I now have a JY shopping list to start working on. I also now have the info I need to use the new plug wires I purchased. And I feel confident about ordering me a new MSD distributor for my babe plus it's the weekend. This week is definitely taking a big turn for the better and I thank you gentlemen for your help and input.
