Dealer Installed Remote Start
Yesterday I had the Ford dealer install a remote starter on my 2013 Ford F150 Supercrew 4x4. Cost me $360 dollars.
I know... it's a boys with toys thing, but it's cool!
It's pretty cool. The dealer told me that the starter falls under the the Ford warranty. Uh, warrantied for what I'm not real sure.
I bought the 100 series (start button on key head) from Fairway Ford on eBay for $130. Was an easy installation myself, drop glovebox forward and tie wrap antennae and plug in. $50 at the Ford dealer to have computer flashed to recognize it. Will be nice to have a nice cool interior on those hot summer days and warmed up in the winter.

Yes, it's the remote start with the 'start' button on the Ford key head. The dealer gave me two additional keys. So now I have two keys without the remote start and two keys with the remote start.
When I remote start the truck, the air flow (AC / Heater) is running at full blast. Even thought the dial is positioned to off. When I put the key in the ignition and turn the key, the blower returns to the dial setting. I'm assuming this is normal operation.

Either way I like it. It's cool.

Yes sir. The dealer installed remote start options are found under settings. Very cool. Didn't know it even existed until you mentioned it. Thanks for the information. Adios.
