I think this light is good for outdoor and off road enthusiasts too. Roads can be really pitch black in the evening. Also helpful for folks like me who no longer have 20/20 vision.

The LED bed lights, when on, also illuminate the puddle lights on the mirrors. Combined with these side lights, parking in the dark is made easier.

They don't work above a few MPH, though, so using them for driving won't work.

Lighting is an issue of safety and I don't think that safety should be restricted to higher end models.

Recently Mr. Heath Copp from Peragon truck covers provided me with an LED light. The light can be permanently or magnetically located anywhere on the truck or around the house. The light strobes, flashes and remains on with an amazing 85 hours of continuous run time on 3 AAA batteries.

My point? Exterior LED safety lighting is amazing! Its runs cooler and requires less power from the battery.
