I have A 94 E-150 5.0 I need to know how do you change the TPS Sensor? Is there a shortcut method to doing it? Looks to me like you have to take off the throttle body. Help!!
Go ahead and pull the throttle body, otherwise you're probably asking for a huge headache. Don't worry, though, it's way easier than you might think. Just pull the four bolts and leave everything else intact. It should lift up enough to get at the TPS with little or no difficulty. Be sure you install the TPS correctly, (pay attention to the old one when you take it off). The little wheel thingy (rheostat??) on the TPS should have just a bit of tension on it when it's installed correctly so when the throttle moves, so does the rheostat(??). Don't worry, though, it's seriously not a big deal, and I'm not a huge gearhead either.
<edit>
By the way, when you re-tighten the bolts on the throttle body, stagger 'em (like you do a wheel) so it seats correctly on the intake. You definitely don't want leaks. And don't over tighten them, either.

Thanks to you SmaulzEB for the information. I have all day to work on it so I should be able to have it ready for work on Monday. I'll also replace the throttle body gasket too. I hope this solves my crazy transmission problem. [ post lobsterman "4R70W transmission problem"] around page 10 or 11

Lobsterman, you may need an impact screwdriver to remove the TPS from the TB. Those screws are factory installed with locktite and are a b**ch to take off without one.
The TB screws should be tightened at no more than 10lbs...

Hmm, didn't have any trouble with mine, but who's to say it hadn't already been removed once by the previous owner.
Either way, you're welcome lobsterman, let me know how it turns out.
Yes,in fact, it was a DOUBLE B***H to take off. I twisted the head off of one of the screws. I hope one screw will be enough to hold it! I left the shank of the screw so it wouldn't spin. It didn't solve my transmission problem though. So now I'll try replacing the MLPS sensor,which looks a whole H**L of a lot easier to remove and replace. Thanks for the HELP!

Mine appeared to be working fine like that.
Then, later, I decided to fix it. Drilled a hole in the broken screw, inserted screw extractor, twisted, broke the corner off the throttle body
My advice: If it works, don't fix it. Or at least extract it gently
