Can i change these out to hydraulic hoses with clamps that are rated for the fluid. Mine are rusted and starting to leak, Anybody try something similiar
P.S.I + heat rated, i have a brother-in-law that works for a hydraulic company so he can hook me up. Ive read some posts about how the old ones are a pain to remove, need that tool ect.Iam just wondering how to connect them at the cooler.
I can get a hose that would bee good to over 10K PSI and
hot enough to remove you skin and still not flow much.
Also hose will have more flow restrictions as it flexes and
expands more than tubing. If you worried use stainless lines.
A very important thing to remember is there is an o-ring betweent the tranny cooler and the radiator body. If that o-ring is dislodged it is nearly impossible to get back in place and will always leak requireing a new radiator.
The only thing holding the tranny cooler inplace is the threaded in connector.
Remove one at a time never both at once. They make all sorts of line/hose adapters that will fit besides the push-in fittings.
Common steel brake line makes a good replacement. Many people wouldn't believe how much pressure your brake system puts out.
